PLAYER QUESTIONS:

Do you have any prior experience with Requiem? If so, please detail when (and what characters, if desired) you previously played?

No.

How did you hear about Requiem?

Looking for roleplay shards active in 2024, mostly collecting information through Reddit.

CHARACTER QUESTIONS:

What will your character’s name be?

Aeslya Thornwood.

Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:

I will reproduce below the content of the character's IG description.

The woman you see stands at a modest height of about 152 centimeters, her presence easily blending into the surroundings. She has a fuller figure, not particularly attention-grabbing. Freckles boldly mark her face, arms, and visibly extend under her neckline. Her eyes, of a soft green, often observe her environment with a subtle curiosity, but reveal little about her inner thoughts.

Her voice is clear but unremarkable, matching her plain demeanor. Observing her in conversation, you could notice she tends to absorb more than she asserts, her responses considered and deliberate. To a keen observer, there might seem to be understated depth to her observations and interactions, hinting at layers to her character that aren't immediately apparent.

Seemingly of humble beginnings, she is well-mannered but understated. To a keen observer, there might seem to be understated depth to her observations and interactions, hinting at layers that aren't immediately apparent.

Please provide a few short paragraphs with pertinent details or notable qualities of your character’s history. This does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret:

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

Deepeninging her knowledge regarding specific subjects related to natural history, in relation of the Torment influence on the natural world.

Scenario Response:

In the busy atmosphere of Rumbling Pass, with its crowded train-yard and stoic Legionnaires, there was a woman who appeared to be just another traveller. Dressed like a traveller, she blended in with the diverse crowd. A knowing eye might recognize her for a botanist, with tools suggesting the trade hanging from her pack. However, there was something slightly off about her – a certain intensity in her gaze that suggesting there could be more to the woman than the plain rural scholar she appeared to be.
Driven by a personal mission, she had made her way to the frontier outpost, where peoples came to throw their life away. While her exact goal remained unclear, there was a discernible alertness in her demeanour. As she moved through the crowd, her gaze occasionally shifted, subtly surveying her surroundings, as if looking for something, or danger.
She approached the officiant with a story that was simple and plausible. She claimed to be a botanist aiming to research the unique flora in the First Province and the effect of the Torment on it. This explanation seemed to fit her appearance, but there was a careful rehearsed quality to her words. While her demeanour was that of a low-level scholar, a village wise woman more than an academic truly, there was a hint of something else – a sense of purpose that seemed to go beyond botanical interest.
As she spoke, her confidence was evident, yet she seemed prepared for deeper scrutiny. This was however unnecessary, as her story held up under the officiant’s questioning gaze. After a brief pause, he allowed her entry, warning her of the dangers in the First Province. She passed through the gates with a nod, visa in hand, her expression one of relief mixed with anticipation. The First Province was known for its dangers, and whatever she was truly seeking, it seemed that her journey was only just beginning.
