More than I’d like. Most recently; Thaddeus Eckhardt in Requiem 2.0, and this character earlier in Act 5.

Briefly summarize your prior role-playing experience :

15 Years of Tabletop, 2 on Shattered Alliance, 1 on TLEA, 3+ on Requiem, 1+ on Dark Ages and more than a few other roleplaying groups, in and outside of Ultima.

Why do you wish to play on Requiem, and what do you expect from the shard?
Requiem has always focused more on substantive roleplay that favors quality over quantity. I’ve always enjoyed the stories told, and I hope to be apart of many new ones.

Height: 6'2"
Weight: 192 lbs
Eyes: Light Grey
Hair: Dark brown, slightly graying
Skin: Fair
Handedness: Right
Posture: Worn
Hygiene: Slightly overgrown facial hair, but well maintained.
Scent: Cinder
Physical Description: Aldrich stands at just over six feet tall, a well-worn and scarred body with marks of the past forever etched across his skin. His muscled frame echoes a long life of training and war. A sea of dark brown hair, run through by small streaks of grey, seems to speak of a life long harried by tough decisions. A short beard, similar in it's overgrown definition, frames his weathered features.



Briefly state your character’s intentions for entering the First Province :

Aldrich Echkhardt has served the Republic for nearly all of his adult life, after a long life battling the darkness that assailed the people since his childhood, he decided to rededicate himself after his initial discharge upon hearing the news, and saw no better place to ply his lifelong trade than the First Province, where it may be needed most. Now, having returned, he seeks to set wrongs and to aid his brothers in arms.

Briefly provide the pertinent details of your character’s history :

Aldrich Echkardt was born in a small village nestled between Northborrow and Moorwich in the midlands of Virrenul. He was the older of two children by only a few years. A second generation family, they had deep roots in the Legion, Aldrich’s father was a Legionnaire. Following in his father’s footsteps Aldrich pledged himself at the appropriate age, eager and naive in a Republic that was not yet devastated, honor in service was what he imagined. Not long after his training amongst the hollowed forts in Virrenul, he received his assignment, amongst the Twenty-Fourth, he left his family as the Republic began to mobilize more than many had seen in their lifetimes.

He served in the western territories, as they came to be called. Villages and towns, overrun before their eyes, friends in arms succumbing themselves or turning coward greeted the Twenty-Forth. The long campaign of purging the sick, and protecting those who hand not yet contracted the plague. He rose in the ranks, settling in as a Decanus of the Eighth Cohort.

His Cohort served as a scouting and vanguard unit, often scouting towns for signs of sickness, or bandits that took advantage of the chaos. He fought for decades, losing men and civilians just as often as he saved them, the service took its toll on all of them. When the Twenty-Fourth was pulled from the westlands, many of its veterans, having spent years in that hell were offered discharges. Aldrich was largely compelled to take it, and for a time his heart drove him towards Virreul once again, until he heard of the fall of the First Province.


Briefly write an in-character response to the following scenario:

Aldrich stood among the masses awaiting their hearing before the bureaucrats administering the quarantine. The sight something tired and almost usual for the man, his life filled with working one side of them or the other, he sighs slightly, before turning and approaching the Officiant.

“My name is Aldrich Eckhardt, on orders from the Eighth Legion, Seventh Cohort, Third Contubernium. These are my orders, I wish to return to complete them within the province” he says, as he hands over a sealed scroll, bearing the Eighth Legion seal and concise orders therein from the hand of the Praetorian.

He takes a breath, his grey digits looking over the Officiant’s response, as he stands at attention. His hands rested behind his back, as the Red of the Republic swayed from his shoulders.
