Kristijonas wrote:November 30th, 2018, 7:38 pm Do you have any prior experience with Requiem? If so, please detail when (and what characters, if desired) you previously played:

Briefly played in Act3, Widows Port, but forgot my chars name. He was a witch who confessed his use of magic and was consequently burned.
Act 5, Beta:
Player Herihor, who was KIA.
Daith Deas also burned publicly.
Vaisistha was my last main character. Still alive in the First Province.
Maya Arundhati my second character, accomplished her goals and left back to Prodai to join back her nomadic tribe with the knowledge she had learned of the republic technology and cruel culture.
Lastly, Angiras Dakshatreya, who promptly died to witchunters.

Briefly summarize your prior role-playing experience in a sentence or two:
Played on many UORP servers and have lots of tabletop RPG experience.

Why do you wish to play on Requiem, and what do you expect from the shard?

Because I like the setting, the harshness of the world, and especially the serious playerbase and the supreme mechanics of the server.

What will your character’s name be?
Lux

Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:

Appears malnourished, pale and slim. However, despite that, his back is perfectly straight, his eyes look live and strong and his body flexible and endurant.

His eyes give off a certain vibe of craziness, but only slightly, so it can be mistaken with simply a strong gaze.

his facial features are otherwise rather harmonious and easy on the eyes.

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

Lux was one of the most peaceful monks of the Circle of Illumination and wasn't exactly happy that he was being sent off from his meditations to the turmoil of the first Province. However, being a practicing monk, he took it as a challenge to practice the theory of his spiritual progression.
His given mission is simply to help the First Province defend against the afflicted and throne worshipers and preach the salvation through the Eight.

Briefly provide a pertinent detail or notable quality of your character’s history (this does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret):

Lux was a Collatian orphan of just a few months when he was found and taken in by the Circle of Illumination in Collatia. Being raised by the collective, he had been indoctrinated into the strange spiritual mix of the Decusian Faith and local Collatian influences thoroughly.

To the First Province survivors, Lux will likely appear a stranger - from the way he dresses, moves and talks, to strange breathing exercises performed, magic skills and ideas. However all those are rather logical, when understood. The Circle of illumination in Collatia believes that egoism (identification with one's body and mind) are the root causes of the 13 thrones. In believing so, they discard every piece of individualism from themselves.

Lux is a huge proponent of this philosophy and he believes he has almost lost his individuality and only Heavens act through him. This is a paradoxical situation, since this means most of his behavior is moral, however, believing Heavens (Decus or other beneficial spirits) act through him, he actually has no morals, since why would morals apply to immortals? Moreover, an immoral act may sometimes be done with moral(innocent) motives.

Because of this strange philosophy, Lux can appear weird and even outright crazy. If he feels like stretching his body and doing loud breathing exercises - he will do that without consideration. His individuality is impossible to insult.
But make no mistake - he is a learned man and a logical thinking, and the divine (in his head at least) will, may have deep strategical ways of manifesting itself through Lux. He is a strategical thinker and plans several steps ahead. His divine goals is his sole concern.

Briefly write an in-character response to the following scenario:

Having spent his life in pious ascetism, Lux decided not change ways and not use any tricks in getting to the First Province, and took every step of the way as a challenge that he would overcome through his wits and and the help of the Divines alone.

Arriving at the pass entrance, Lux took refuge with the others interested in entering the province in search of adventure or prosperity.

Spending days at the entrance, he observed the people who were stationed there and chatted with them, hearing out their joys, harships and anxieties. He soon learned that the man who signs the papers with approval and one of the guards there were brothers, and they had their mother living in a village relatively close to the pass who was sick.

Lux, being a student of alchemy, decided to see if there was anything he could do, and traveled there to see the woman. While walking the long distance there, he was recounting the herbs he has and has seen around in the Eastern Baronies in case he needed to concoct a healing poultice for her. However, arriving to her home, he immediately was able to determine the cause of her breathing problems, headaches, fatigue and confusion. It was black mold growing unchecked in her home.

After helping the woman clear the fungi with a simple concoction of Firebush ash and pepper oil mixed 1:14, he gave her a simple ingestable fungicide and a refreshing potion to help her recover from the mold poisoning.

After travelling back to the refugee camp near the entrance to the Rumbling Pass, Lux continued his duties there, until, two days later, he was approached by the two brothers, who couldn't help him enough for saving their mother from the mysterious illness which turned out to be a simple mold poisoning that they hadn't thought of. The brother were more than happy to let Lux slip into the First Province. Without a single doubt, his primary priorities still before his eyes, Lux had accepted the invitation, thanking the Eight for guiding him there and offering a prayer to Decus for luck as he set out towards the pass.
