Ulraunt (secondary)

Post by Ulraunt » January 7th, 2019, 11:07 pm

Do you have any prior experience with Requiem? If so, please detail when (and what characters, if desired) you previously played:

Yes, Aloric Thayne

Briefly summarize your prior role-playing experience in a sentence or two:
Why do you wish to play on Requiem, and what do you expect from the shard?
Same immersive RP experience I can't do without

What will your character’s name be?:
Ulraunt

Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:

Age: 23
Height: 6'9
Weight: 326 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Long matted curly brown hair
A giant hulking man with dirty brown hair curling down past his shoulders and a square of a face hidden behind dirt, dried blood and tattoos. His shoulders and arms are covered in similar tattoos and crisscrossed with scars. A long braided beard parts in the middle with some beads, and reconnects in a band down the front of his chest. He wields a two handed axe that looks like a hatchet in relation to his size. His posture and movement is calculated and alert, his eyes moving back and forth constantly to assess the surroundings.

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

Axes don't make themselves and it's one of the few things he doesn't do himself, for himself, priding in being extremely self sufficient...that and the fort's fine fire water.

Briefly provide a pertinent detail or notable quality of your character’s history (this does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret):

Ulraunt has lived off the land just outside Briar Hollow, and only begun to interact with anyone from outside that area once folks from the Fort started poking around. He would cautiously watch them from the forest, hidden amongst the dense foilage. The only thing to match his size would be in inquisitive and curious nature. That is how he found himself standing in front of the gates of the Fort, all of his few possessions in hand. All these people...he couldn't believe how many people were here! There were likely as many people walking these streets as all of those he has seen in his entire life put together, or at least it sure seemed that way.

Usually he avoided contact with others, it was necessary from time to time of course, but he didn't trust them. They always looked at him in a certain way...their noses would crinkle up and he could sense their tension, slight disgust, and anxiety in his presence. Most people weren't really aware of just what you could tell from someone's body language. This is how most animals communicated, but not most people for some reason. They lacked the skills needed to determine what someone was feeling or thinking from their body language. Words and letters mean nothing, especially in the wild, everything is communicated in more direct, less vocal ways.

Sadly, however, the world he knew was changing...going away. The forests were out of balance, no longer able to sustain themselves on the delicate cycle that was essential for it to thrive. These people from the fort would come and chop down trees by the dozens, destroying the home of the bird who now had to leave, leaving less prey for the reed cat to eat. Without them, they started to become aggressive towards woodland travelers...attacking them out of desperation. The travelers didn't understand why they were attacking...putting the animals down without a second thought...often not utilizing any part of the body. Countless times he would come upon the maggot infested rotting carcasses of waste that was left behind. Truly sad.

But that was the state of the world, everything was out of balance, and he could not sustain himself by himself any longer. When the winds change, you change with them or it takes you with it....

Briefly write an in-character response to the following scenario:

Watching others in line before him plead their cases for why they should be let in, Ulraunt accepted that he would have to show cause to let him in. Confidently he strode up to the gate, dropping a sack in front of him. Pulling out two freshly killed birds, some pelts, and other...various...parts of animals, he stands up to his full height and looks down to the guards...

"Hunt things. Food for people. Trade..."

Folding his arms, he looks between them, awaiting a response
