Brandr Halfhand

Post by The Tattered Prince » January 11th, 2019, 12:56 pm

What will your character’s name be?:
Brandr Halfhand

Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:

Age: Early Twenties
Height: Approximately Six-Foot-Seven
Weight: Approximately Two-Hundred and Seventy Pounds
Eyes: Green
Hair: Auburn

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

Until recently, the Torment has been a distant threat to the tills of Ostenam; but, that has changed and it doesn't take much to understand the way things will soon go if nothing is done to change it. Brandr's motivations are not completely selfless though, as he seeks not only a means for helping his people, but also the opportunity to strike out and make a name for himself. After all, why save the world when you are but an insignificant speck?

Briefly provide a pertinent detail or notable quality of your character’s history (this does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret):

Brandr Halfhand is the eldest of seven, but there is little to inherit within the shadows of the Galehorn Mountains that the sickness will not have corrupted should he not venture forth into the world. It was a reality that each of his siblings had been raised knowing. It was a harsh world, and no one was going to take pity on you, not unless they had something to gain from it. No, there would be no weakness here, instead, Grimr Sorensen raised his children to confront the ills of the world head on, and with a fiery passion in their hearts. And, as such, the eldest of Sorensen's legacy would strike out, earning his place in the world, and survive through personal strength rather than the mercy of another. Until then, Brandr had worked in the logging camps, felling the ancient hardwood trees so that the communities could fashion their defenses against an inevitable tide of death, disease, and decay that threatened to spill forth from their less-fortunate neighbors.

Briefly write an in-character response to the following scenario:

Brandr Halfhand did not move through the line, herded like so many cattle into a pen. No, he would not allow his fate to be decided by a man that may or may not have honorable intentions. And, as it stands, Brandr did not have wealth or status to influence the officiant's decision. Instead, he made himself useful to the garrison there, going around the officiant, and contracting his impressive size to bolster the Legion and Templar forces for a year. He was branded, on the wrist, with a mark that made him seem more property than anything, but wounded pride was a small price to pay for the assurance of survival. After all, he did not want to be turned away, and have to return to the tills of Ostenam as a failure. No, he would instead serve as a deterrent to any who might try to cause trouble in the rumbling pass, waiting for his sentence to end, and his papers to be signed.

That day had finally come.
