In his 30s, Silas possesses a lean and calculated frame, leaving an air of both danger and elusiveness. Notable among his features is a meticulously crafted sleeve on one arm. His brown eye, and one possibly damaged concealing a hidden story, pierce through the veil of scars that mass on his face. Amidst his teeth, all intact except for one, a metallic replacement serves as a testament to a past encounter or a secret yet to be unveiled.

Silas Atropa's tattooed sleeve on his left arm subtly intertwines cryptic imagery. The Corps insignias seamlessly blend with intricate designs, creating an illusion of innocence that veils the forbidden knowledge beneath. Hounded by shadows of his past endeavors, the fallen capital becomes a deceptive refuge, offering a fleeting chance to elude pursuers and disappear into the chaos within. His motivations, subtly entwined with self-preservation, personal gain, and the allure of hidden knowledge, guide him through the deceptive facade of the First Province. Silas, a practitioner of elusive arts, steps into the unknown, driven by a desperate need to evade the unseen threats that shadow his every move.

Silas Atropa, born into a lineage shrouded by turmoil and traditions that thrive along the edge. Concealing his past behind a veil of discretion, Silas uses alchemical expertise to maintain an enigmatic façade. Scarred physically and mentally, his journey is marked by mysterious alliances and the pursuit of knowledge that lurks in forbidden pursuits. Drawn to the Venerated Apothecary Corps, Silas honed his knowledge of research.

The Rumbling Pass lay before Silas, a gateway to the fallen realm of the First Province. His eyes scanned the massive outpost, guarded by Legionnaires and Church Templar. The looming mountain range contained the quarantined territory, and the outpost was the last hurdle before Silas could immerse himself in the chaos within.

The passenger train, a marvel of technology, released a plume of steam, a stark contrast to the grim reality of the quarantined zone. Silas listened to the murmurs around him, tales of the treacherous tunnels and the perilous journey. It puzzled him—the effort to secure a route into the infected province seemed more like an evacuation than a one-way ticket into anarchy.

Drawing closer to the outpost, Silas observed the gatekeeper officiant, a monotone voice reciting the regulations. The words resonated with disdain, and the last line hinted at the VIC, a volatile element in the quarantined territory. Silas pondered his options, well aware of the bribery, counterfeit visas, and the power of convincing arguments.

Stepping forward with an air of confidence, Silas faced the officiant, his gaze meeting the Legionnaires. In a calculated move, he reached into the folds of his cloak, producing a small pouch containing the last of his coin. With a subtle glint in his eye, he extended it toward the officiant.

"I seek entry for a unique purpose," he stated, his tone measured. "I may not possess the official paperwork, but perhaps this can grease the wheels of bureaucracy." Silas let the pouch fall into the officiant's hands, its weight a testament to the desperation and determination that fueled him. "I carry not much beyond this. Permit me, and you shall find value beyond the obvious. An ally within, aiding the Republic's cause from the depths where others dare not tread."

Silas awaited the officiant's response, his expression betraying nothing as he calculated the cost of entry into the heart of the First Province.
