NPCs that will perform a function for a weekly or monthly stipend. NPCs should be tethered to a claim, house, or person. Two tiers of NPCs. The amount of NPCs available to be purchased by a player could work like tamable slots (standard 5 slots), with the lower tier NPCs taking 1-2 slots and the higher tier NPCS taking 3. You could even tie a perk into making this pool larger.
Some NPC ideas:
Miners - produce X amount of tier X geology materials
Lumberjacks - produce X amount of tier X Horticulture materials
Farmers - produce X amount of tier X food materials
Goon - Follows employer or guards Claim/House
