The Forsaken

“I do not doubt that kindness and mercy and forgiveness can still be found somewhere in these lands, but do not look for them here. When men must live like rats in the dark beneath the earth, they soon run out of pity, as they do of milk and honey.” - Unknown

I. Common Knowldege

The Forsaken, a veritable consortium of sellswords, whatever their past may be, was established in the First Province shortly after Dewfall 1342 AS by a small cadre of like-minded captains. Though these mercenary banners vary by design, composition, and temperment -- they have come together for one purpose... survival.

The Banners of the Forsaken were established to provide safety and security to those who would pay for it, regardless of where their allegiances may lie. This particular goal is accomplished through various means, be it military force, financial pressure, subversion, clandestine tactics, or anonymous acts of charity; therefore, each banner operates according to their personal charters. In fact, it is not uncommon for such outfits to be pit against one another. And, so long as these banners obey the agreed upon rules of engagement set forth by members of the conclave, no interference will occur.

Prospective members, be they individuals or companies, are encouraged to obtain a membership with the conclave. Once a prospective member is fully initiated into The Forsaken, they are welcomed to accept contracts, establish their own retinues, and sit in on all conclaves, so long as they pay their dues and upkeep.

II. The Banners, Structure

The Brotherhood of Oak and Iron, Defunct.
The Black Hand, Active.
Howell & Son Provincial Detective Agency, Active

III. Current Operations

The Black Hand is reportedly operating in or around the ruins of Riverside; pursuing so-called enemies of the Republic. Although this outfit maintains membership in good-standing with the conclave, little is known about their true intentions.

Howell & Son, Provincial Detective Agency, a new member of the conclave, seeks to establish a field office near to Fort Praesidium, providing an abundance of services from security to investigation.

IV. Notable Members

"The Broken Sword", founding member of the Black Hand.

V. Hall of Heroes

Lucian Valente, Deceased - Executed on the 22nd of Highharvest, 1344

VI. Articles of Engagement

I. No member of the Forsaken shall engage, knowingly, in such a manner as to subvert, damage, or discredit another member beyond the provisions of a sanctioned contract.

[OOC: Competition is healthy for Requiem's economy, but we would like to encourage our members to show restraint as it comes to looting/stealing from other members.]

II. No member shall accept a contract against another member without prior authorization from the conclave.

[OOC: Let's make sure that we respect everyone's schedules and only perform actions when all parties are available to respond. I.E. Don't wait until a player is unavailable to break into their home and steal their leet loots.]

III. No member shall knowingly exceed the force necessary to execute a contract against another member.

[OOC: Though we are hoping to encourage competition through PvE and PvP, we'd like to see PD used only as a last resort.]
