Johann-Lothar Krottendorf

Do you have any prior experience with Requiem? If so, please detail when (and what characters, if desired) you previously played:

Briefly summarize your prior role-playing experience in a sentence or two:

I LARP on a volunteer basis, and am an avid American Civil War reenactor.(confederate)

Why do you wish to play on Requiem, and what do you expect from the shard?
I like to roleplay. I expect to get roleplay from the shard
What will your character’s name be?:
Johann-Lothar Krottendorf
Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:
Lothar stands at below average height, sporting a medium build. His face is dominated by a bushy blonde mustache that most would likely describe as ‘untamed’. His wavy champagne colored hair cascades down beyond his shoulders, and he prominently features a lengthy scar along his right arm. His posture is somewhat slouched and he almost seems to walk with a bounce in his step.

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

Johann-Lothar spent nearly his entire adult life as an employee of the Renatus Arms Workshop in Kyprios. When it was suddenly closed and his wages as a man-at-arms for the Parish of Renatus proved inadequate to maintain his lifestyle, he elected to seek greater career advancement in the First Province, hoping his marksmanship could be put to better use than the testing range.

Briefly provide a pertinent detail or notable quality of your character’s history (this does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret):

Johann-Lothar’s father was a well-reputed small-game hunter in Kyprios, having earned enough money to send all of his children except his youngest, Johann-Lothar, to apprenticeships in well-respected fields. Johann-Lothar, however, was only afforded the tutelage of his illiterate father. Johann-Lothar is, just as his father, illiterate. His education in the realm of marksmanship, however, was top-notch.

Briefly write an in-character response to the following scenario:

Johann-Lothar stood in the line wedged between a man whose odor was similar to that of an abandoned fish processing workshop, and behind him was a woman whose presence he could not block out, as her obnoxious breathing could likely be heard in Fort Praesidium itself.

He looked down at himself in a rare moment of self-observation noting that his green woollen coat, which was already quite shabby, had developed a new hole as a result of his constant fiddling with with that most important of objects to him: a piece of parchment. Pondering over how he arrived here, he came to realize that he had endured plenty of time for fiddling on the month long overland journey he had taken here. He could not afford to come by rail, and the past few weeks were a blur of muddy trails, passing patrols, and a few chance encounters with bandits.

That brought him to the other object of interest secreted about his person: an elaborate leather harness which had been a gift from his employer, which allowed him to secure a brace of three flintlock pistols in such a way that only the most perceptive and alert of watchmen might observe one printing against the coarse wool texture of his coat. The leather was well-worn and tearing itself apart at points: it had seen daily use for the last three years. The one portion of his attire that would only change after he inevitably met his end, he mused.

Lost in thought as he was, he realized it was almost his turn to engage with the officiant. The smelly man ahead of him, stepped forward, and clumsily dropped a golden candlestick on the table. The actions of this lumbering oaf being so obvious, the officiant had no choice but to wave the man off, as the clatter had drawn the attention of many otherwise glassy-eyed men and women around them. The buffoon, defeated, clomped off back into the miasma of human misery that was the Rumbling Pass. Good riddance, Johann-Lothar thought.

Stepping forward, he offered a toothy grin to the Officiant “Glad that one’s gone. Must be a soap smuggler, eh? Don’t use your own supply, they say. Anyhoose, here’s that there paper”

As he awaited the officiants response, he once again became acutely aware of the woman, who was uncomfortably close to him, and her labored breathing
