General Development Philosophy - Requiem VI
General development of the Requiem project is done in the spirit of teamwork and collaboration. The Administration Team has the most critical roles of the project; to shape the general game-play of the project, to attract and entice new players to join the community, to encourage policies, mechanics and content to retain players within the community, and to both directly and indirectly shape the atmosphere, setting and general lore of the project as a whole.
The Lead Developer (Sic) is responsible for assuring that all mechanical content of the project coincides with each other and fits together in terms of balance, scope, features and its impact on the atmosphere, general enjoyment of the shard, and most importantly, adherence to the story lore. The Lead Developer is responsible for making any final judgement calls when it applies to what is added to the project, what is removed, and what is altered in the event a consensus cannot be reached among the Admin team as a whole.
The Admin Team as a whole is responsible for organizing and preparing any and all future additions, planned work, and future content that may be intended to be added to the shard in its post-launch capacity. Any and all ideas, mechanics, lore changes and story developments in relation to the larger project are discussed with the Administration team as a whole as to ensure general adherence to the vision of the project. Once a consensus has been reached as to if a content addition or change is a proper and fitting addition to the shard’s features (or change), it is then brought to GameMaster staff for collaboration, input, alterations and reviews. Once the idea has gone through work-shopping within the GameMaster staff, it is then brought to the community Content and Testing Teams for final work-shopping and development.
The GameMaster Team consists of the critical, core staff infrastructure that support all facets of shard development, handles the majority of community relations, and above all-else, manages and partakes in in-game development, content creation, and community support. GameMasters assume assistant development roles as members of staff that range from map development, art asset development, lore and story development, and other key facets of supporting development that would otherwise render the project unsustainable. The GameMaster team furthermore workshops, alters and edits design decisions approved by the Administration Team using their community insight and knowledge to assure that all implemented ideas are in the best shape and form for full integration into the project.
The Content Team of Requiem is a group of core community members who devote their time and energy assisting the staff in the development of specific mechanical systems and subsystems, offering critical community analysis, direct development contributions, meta-development and suggestion creation, and general support development to the shard. Additionally, community assistance in the form of map development and decoration fall under the scope and umbrella of the Content Team.
