IP from Industrial Grinder are not stacking after the IP return adjustment

Could it be an old bug where particles wouldn't stack if they didn't have the same image?
For instance the image changed if you had 1, just a few, or a lot of particles (small pile, medium pile, big pile), and those would not stack together?
Because I did some grinding last night and they all stacked correctly, but all piles were of the "big" kind.
