Azrael [Secondary]

What will your character’s name be?

Azrael Rhyn

Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:

Whereas his son was a tall and slender man, Azrael Rhyn easily stands head and shoulders above the average male, and his form is heavy with corded muscle. Skin bronzed by the unforgiving deserts of the Western Territories is covered by swiling patterns that the Firstborn of the Dwythyr Bloodline had claimed granted strength and protection to those that earned them. A long, unshorn mane, the color of a pale sun was a distinct family trait, as were the bits of silver worn among slender braids within the rivers of free flowing hair. This framed a clean shaven face, but where his son had been stunningly good-looking, the father had a stern and unforgiving face, as though this very existence displeased him greatly. Eyes the color of an unblemished sky are clear and sharp, but they carry the wrinkles of age from time to time. His movement too is slow, and measured, the aging Westerner seeming to favor his right leg whenever the journey is long, or the weather damp. No longer is he the spry young man who came to Tor in search of a cure for his wife all those years ago.

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

The Light of Dwythyr, legacy of his family, a silver spear that was said to have been forged during the formaitve years of the Decusian Kingdom, had been past down to his only son, Arthwys Rhyn -- whose life had been cut short. The details of which are yet unknown to the grieving father, but it is with this purpose that Azrael has returned to the First Province. His mission is two-fold, recover The Light, and honor his son's sacrifice.

Briefly provide a pertinent detail or notable quality of your character’s history (this does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret):

The Light of Dwythyr had passed hands, from father to son, releasing the elder from his duty as a guardian to the family's legacy, and freeing him to travel to Tor, where he had heard that a cure for his wife's illness might exist. Yet, what he found in Tor was not the illustration of a stalwart city prepared to throw back the darkness, but rather a pit of vipers. Azrael found no cure, and his wife soon perished to the illness. And so, with a broken heart, he left Tor behind the first chance he had, disappearing into the countryside where he would remain until the darkness took him too. Yet, that certain death never came, and the absence of his father brought Arthwys to the First Province -- and eventually, to his death. News had come by way of a Consortium Auditorii, whose numerals have long since been forgotten, that had somehow tracked him down in his hermitage among the mountains. But, what he found was a wild, unwelcoming man, one that did not welcome the Republic's servants for what they had taken from him in this life.

Briefly write an in-character response to the following scenario:

Azrael's shoulders rolled back, straightening the large man's frame to its full height, a soft groan passing from his lips. It was tiring, as a man in his forties, to travel night and day. But, in time, the man found himself standing before the officiant, staring at the man with those pale blue eyes. "Sheep" he remembered telling the strange young man who prowled rooftops, watching the denizens of the ill-fated city, in the Heartwood district. Yet, here he stood all the same, returning to the world for the sake of his family, and to understand the people his son had given his life to protect. Azrael's cloth wrapped digits dipped into a soft time-worn satchel, producing the three year old Visa provided to him by Emilio in the Quarantine District of Tor, and set it down before the officiant. " I have business in this place..." His tone almost brooked a challenge, but surely the Officiant would not risk his neck with this man.
