Application for Nola Witlock

Post by VeraShelby » August 28th, 2021, 12:25 am

Do you have any prior experience with Requiem? If so, please detail when (and what characters, if desired) you previously played:

Yes, I currently play two other characters

Briefly summarize your prior role-playing experience in a sentence or two:

A lot of experience on UO

Why do you wish to play on Requiem, and what do you expect from the shard?

Looking forward to seeing the storyline start

What will your character’s name be?:

Nola Witlock

Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:

Nola is a pleasant looking girl of 22 who stands at a firm 5’8” with a pronounced hourglass figure. She appears strong with well defined muscles earned from manual labor. She has lightly sun-tanned skin, jet-black messy hair, and dark gray eyes. Across her abdomen is a deep and puckered scar that runs from her left hip across to her right lower ribs.

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

Nola is a young woman scorn and is motivated by revenge. Despite her father’s warnings Nola fell in with a young sailor who promised her the moon and more. When she became pregnant the young man vanished and is rumored to have fled to the First Province. Nola nearly died delivering her child who did not survive the labor. She has come to the First Province with the hopes of finding her ex and introducing him to a pyre.

Briefly provide a pertinent detail or notable quality of your character’s history (this does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret):

Born and raised on the docks of Greatport, Nola is a wharf rat through and through. While many street urchins joke about not knowing who their father is, Nola has the opposite problem; she has no idea who her mother is. According to her father, Franklin Witlock, she was delivered to him in a basket placed outside of the shoreside tavern he worked at. A note was left in the basket claiming her to be his. Franklin, who had run wild in his youth, never questioned her paternity, and raised Nola to the best of his abilities. Nola’s female role models were the women that worked in the taverns and hustled the sailors who came in on leave. For this reason, she tends to be a bit of a manipulative flirt and is attracted to strong female personalities.

Briefly write an in-character response to the following scenario:

Nola waded through the crowd and patiently waited her turn, a leather bag containing all her earthly possessions slug across her back. She didn’t want to make herself noticeable or attract any attention. The papers she held in her hand were expertly forged by a scribe in Greatport who guaranteed they’d get her access to the Province. The official called her, and she presented the papers wordlessly. The man inspected the documents, turning them over time and time again. She could see his brow knit and realized something was out of place. Quietly, Nola cleared her throat and spoke to the man.

“Sir, did you drop this?”, she smiled and opened her palm to show a shimmering gold piece.

She watched as the man’s attention moved from the papers to her palm and a thin smirk appeared on his face. She nodded once and held her hand out for her papers, hoping they had an understanding.
