Application for Ayano Xun Zi

Post by JeremiahLFRP » July 16th, 2022, 9:24 pm

Do you have any prior experience with Requiem? If so, please detail when (and what characters, if desired) you previously played:
Yes, currently playing Act VI and I've played prior.

What will your character’s name be?: Ayano Xun Zi

Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:

Xun is a tall man with brown hair, light brown eyes, and a fair complexion. He is considered to be very handsome, possessing an incredibly well-built body with shocking muscular structure, particularly his lower arms. His physiognomy suggests Bhaskarian heritage. He presents himself in an inconspicuous and unobtrusive manner. His expression is almost always a lackadaisical and idle look, which gives off an unconcerned attitude. This can be interpreted as indifference or a relatively passive demeanor as well as carrying himself with an air of aloofness, latency, and one can easily sense with continued interactions that there is a general sense of apathy to him. Even his voice reminds you as if it were a recital, each word being spoken as if practiced repetitively to the highest proficiency, yet not seemingly natural.

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

Being dispatched to the First Province was a bit more than an "just an inconvenience", it was a complete and abrupt halt to Xun’s routine lifestyle, including adding unnecessary embers, stoking the flames of a familial conflict that he normally shared the burdens with his siblings. His gaze falling off to the rapidly growing, expanding horizon of what is called the Rumbling Pass. Further in would be the final stop of the little sojourn he was on and the beginning of the ever present waiting game of the logistics and clerical work of the Checkpoint, with providing paperwork and forms, Identification checks, screening, among all other trivialities which the Republic cease to never fail to provide. Still, at least it all distanced Xun considerably from those who had authorized this contract, as well as providing an obstacle if they attempted to try and recall him.. Hopefully it would remain that way.

Briefly provide a pertinent detail or notable quality of your character’s history (this does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret):

"The thing about the Niunas is, as soon as you think you've seen it all and ventured as deep as you can go, you haven't even breached the fog..."
Those were the last words of a soon to be deceased Preponderant of the Forlorn Hope that Xun encountered during one of his treks throughout the abyss of chaos that is considered the Stormborne swamp . To those who ventured within, it was unforgiving and hostile, those who undertook the trek from other provinces, or caught between Collatia and Nemus then it would most likely be a death wish, an express one way trip to Hel itself. Xun only survived due to an unforeseeable circumstance that would lead them to remain indentured with the role of being a "scavenger" of specific Curio for the market of shadowy brokers, scoundrels and informants within Nemus. It was a very harrowing trade, with little room for inadequate scavengers and an even thinner line for those unable to learn the politics and unwritten rules of life in the criminal city enclosed in the lands better known as "Rage."

The many advantages that most other collectors in his new trade possessed such as information of areas of interest from prior contacts, resourcefulness, savvy management, charisma, Xun had none of those. What he did have was the sagacious ability to read the emotions of people around him with pinpoint accuracy and utilize that knowledge as a tool, or a weapon if needed. In circles that have dealt with him for an extended period of time he is known to come up with ingenious and imaginative plans to locate, gather, steal, or bribe whatever was required for the completion of his contract. He is incredibly socially awkward, being utterly terrible at effectively communicating with people and failing at correctly associating with them in any meaningful way. As a result, he speaks in a very monotonous way and tends to isolate himself. These traits tend to leave an impression on others and why still he possesses such an enigmatic presence, even to those that consider themselves closest to him. With time and effort he is now capable of sustaining some conversations, though in a somewhat dull and monotonous fashion.

Briefly write an in-character response to the following scenario:

As the officiant finished his speech for the umpteenth time without glancing up from the ledger, he called forth the next person to step forth. Presenting their documents to him in somewhat unexpectedly organized and fluid fashion, the officiant peruses the documents, muttering to himself about the influx of bounty hunters being sent. A practiced, hollow smile spread across Xun's features, toying with the strap of the travel pack over their shoulder they offered this to say, "It's a peculiar thing, how a wanted individual operates, I've heard of quite a few traveling this same path that led them to this very zone, jumping into complete ambiguity and anonymity. I see why they do it, no moderate sum of simple riches would cover the costs of travel of the people in my profession. Unfortunately for myself and for the individuals I pursue, this isn't by personal choice. It's just business."
