Application for Wynn Harrington

Post by Decus Vult » December 1st, 2022, 1:25 pm

Do you have any prior experience with Requiem? If so, please detail when (and what characters, if desired) you previously played:
Yes, played in the plantation time and ACT V

How did you hear about Requiem?
I found Requiem while searching for an RP enforced shard years ago

What will your character’s name be?
Wynn Harrington

Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features: Wynn is a relatively tall reaching around 5'11" and 6 feet, his body is slender but muscular. His hair is of a light brown and his eyes are of a dark green. His skin is tanned as if he spent a lot of time in the sun. His face is very gorgeous and he always has an easy smile across his lips.

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:
Wynn's previous "business ventures" have gone bad, and he needed to lay low somewhere where neither the authorities or his previous business partners could find him. He then received a letter from an old friend saying she was inside the quarantine zone of the First Province, which gave him the idea to hide there.

Please provide a few short paragraphs with pertinent details or notable qualities of your character’s history: Wynn grew up in the streets of the massive city of Redholme, his mother died during child birth and his father a sailor named Edward Harrington, worked in a trading ship. In one of his voyages Edward was lost at sea, leaving the young Wynn orphan. The boy was soon after placed in one of the many orphanages in the city. Motivated by terrible living conditions and constant physical abuse Wynn escaped the orphanage with a group of friends. They spent their days tricking people around the city in order to make enough coin to buy food. When he was 15 one of these daily "adventures" when wrong when a failed attempt to steal a pocket watch drawn the attention of the local garrison. Wynn decided to flee the city and hid in a boat at the harbor, a decision that changed his life forever. The ship belonged to Nash Warwick, a pirate who posed as a merchant to pass on his ill-gotten wares. After sailing under the black flag for 10 years Wynn decided to start his own crew have his own ship. He had found a treasure map, but since he had no ship or crew he took loans from dangerous people in order to fund the venture, the plan backfired once he found out the treasure wasn't there. Running for his life Wynn decided to hide in the quarantine zone.

Please write a few short paragraphs of an in-character response to the following scenario:
You watch, somewhat defeated, as but a scant few of the hundreds that approach the outpost officiant, who stands at the outer gates of the outpost flanked by a few heavily armored Legionnaires, are actually allowed to pass through the man-door and into the outpost and train-yards proper. You see some swarthy fellows slip pieces of gold to the officiant, while others plead their cases and rationale as to why they should be allowed to enter the recently fallen territory. Some appear to provide some sort of paperwork to the officiant, flashing official looking papers from a Faction or influential Prelacy house, who promptly waves them through. While watching and eavesdropping, you manage to overhear the well-rehearsed speech the officiant provides to those whom don’t provide paperwork or grease his palm, the words monotone and nasally.
“By decree of the Venerated Church, the First Province is a mortal health hazard, and as such, is quarantined under Article Eighteen of the Republic Treatise of Health Act of 1320. Citizens who do not possess a Quarantine Visa issued by one of the recognized Factions of the Republic are considered non-essential to the reclamation of the First Province. Under Article Eighteen, non-essentials seeking entry into an official quarantine zone must petition for entry into a said zone, and state just cause for the issuing of a Quarantine Visa by the perimeter authority.”

*Wynn had bought a fake apothecary corps visa with the last of his money, and so he confidently walk to the line and waited his turn. When he finally stood in front of the officiant he gave him his documents and a captivating smile, saying:* - I'm William Sharrer, an assistant physiologist. I'm here to help and care for the people of the province, may the Lord God shine his bright light in our heavy work so that we may find the proper way forward.
*The Legion officiant blinked a bit mesmerized by the natural charisma of Wynn, that he barely checked the documents on his hands. The officiant quickly recompose himself and stamped the papers giving it back to Wynn with a curt nod saying:* - Welcome to the province.
*Wynn makes a little bow, grabs the documents back and say:* - Thank you for your service, may the Eight protect you and your men. *The young pirate takes his belongings and and make his way inside the fort*
