CHARACTER QUESTIONS:

What will your character’s name be?

Senit Ephamos

Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:

Around 5’6”, slightly stocky, dark hair and dark eyes. Has a notable burn scar along his left neck and lower face, as well as much smaller burns on his hands.

Please provide a few short paragraphs with pertinent details or notable qualities of your character’s history. This does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret:

Senit was an orphan in Greatport, near Aedenshyr. At age 10 he was pulled off the streets and forcibly shipped to a small manor in the nearby hills, here lived an old priest, Andino Collos. Senit was expected to help around the manor, but specifically to help the priest in matters as an alchemist. This involved mostly gathering herbs, travelling to Greatport to buy goods, and as he got older help with grinding, mixing, and distillation.

As he worked, the old priest would espouse his philosophy on alchemy and the flame. The specifics being summarized as, alchemy is the process of using flame to purify crass matter into a pure purposed form. This process worked on men as well, that under the right conditions the flame would purify man and better him and his purpose. Of course, like alchemy, exposure to the flame burns unless proper conditions are met.

The ending for this part of his life came many years later, and set him on the path towards the Quarantine Zone. For many years while at the manor, every month a group of four men would visit the manor, they would lock themselves in a small attached chapel and discuss matters with the priest. By the morning they would have left with a collection of distillates, contraptions, and mixtures. He used to ask the priest who they were, but was always told to ignore the matter. One day instead of the expected group a different group of 3 men showed up.

Andino quickly warned Senit to go inside the manor, and proceeded to get into an argument with the men. The argument turned violent and Senit watched as the old man pulled a knife and stabbed one of the men, Senit was amazed as the wound started to burn, but then the other men turned on the priest and slammed a metal clad club into his head, felling him instantly. One of the men then pulled a contraption from a pack and threw it towards the manor, it was a contraption like Senit had seen before from the priest, one which would burn with a flame that would burn even on stone. He rushed towards the back of the manor as the front burnt trying to find a window or exit before the heat reached the alchemical tools, but did not make it out before the building exploded.

Some time later he woke up, sore and burnt, but alive. The old man was dead, his work destroyed, and Senit had unanswered questions. He travelled to Greatport, explained the case, and got a Templar to issue a bounty on the 3 men who had killed a priest and burnt his manor. Senit had questions and he was going to find those men, find out why this had happened.

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

To find the men who killed the elderly priest he lived with.

Scenario Response:

Senit fingered the small bounty in his hand, he hoped that it would be enough to let him in. He was surprised when the trail he followed had led to the First Colonies and the quarantine zone, just one more mystery to solve about his trio. It had been nearly a year since he left Greatport in search of these men and the trail had been serpentine.

He hoped the sign bounty would be enough to get him into the quarantine zone, killing a priest was a major crime. Of course, it might be protocol that once someone was in the quarantine zone, they were assumed dead and would never leave. It would make the issue of recouping a bounty difficult, but Senit had a few coins left to try and grease the wheel.

“Papers Please.” The officiants voice broke him from his revery, he handed over the bounty paper.
“I’m looking for these three, they killed a priest near Greatport and we believe they made their way to the Quarantine Zone.”

The officiant glanced over the bounty, giving Senit a look over. “You do not look like the normal bounty hunter, and these criminals won’t be leaving if they entered. I recommend you give up and find another.”
Senit sighed and pulled out the coins he still had placing them on the table, “Its personal.”

The official looked over and pocketed the coins, “You know we aren’t allowed to let anyone leave, the Templar kill anyone who tries.”

Senit nodded as the official acquiesced and started on a visa for him.
