Catch-up Infusion - Pooling some unused daily infusion

Hello,

This is a suggestion for a tweak in the infusion system that would pool up to 7 days of infusion points (first 10k daily) instead of having a hard reset everyday. With this system, if you gained no infusion for a full week because you didn't log or were just RPing in town, you could pool up to 35k infusion at 100% gain, and another 35k infusion at diminished rates (0-50% infusion fatigue).

* * *

The shard I played on prior to Requiem worked with a system similar to infusion, though it worked with passive gains alone (ticks every X minutes while online, and nothing else from hunting/crafting). You had X amount of experience which you would get at 100% rate. Once that pool was drained, gains would slowly go down until they basically reached 0. This pool was reset daily, as is infusion on Requiem. It was very similar to infusion fatigue.

The really nice feature they added was to pool the "daily XP cap" if you could not log on for a day. What it did was that the system would keep track of your daily gains, and if you did not get all of the xp you would get at 100% gain rate, the remainder would go to the pool. The maximum pool would be the equivalent of 7 days of the 100% gain. The pool from below 100% would be lost. Practically, what would happen is that if you could not log on for 3 days, for instance, when you'd log on the 4th day, you would gain xp at 100% gain until you had obtained the equivalent of 4 days worth of 100% gain, then it would go back to the usual, diminished gain. This allowed players to not feel so compelled to log in daily just to grind their infusion (which is a very sad reality, especially for mages for whom it is the only real way of getting spells).

I think such a system would be very good for Requiem, maybe for the first 10k infusion of a day at the current rate.

In short, if you ended up missing a few days (let's say 4), when you'd log in on the fifth day (so 5 days worth of infusion), you could get 25k infusion at full gain before getting infusion fatigue, then 25k at the diminished infusion fatigue gain, then it would go back to normal diminished rates for the remaining 10k for this day. People who grind daily would lose nothing, and would still get ahead as they can still get the extra 10k infusion others would miss on.

That way, people who play more casually get a better chance at not falling behind. It would also encourage some people to do RP and events as you would not feel the rush to achieve your daily infusion cap, knowing it will (mostly) be there later in the week.
