Frayjave application

Post by Frayjave » December 9th, 2018, 8:22 pm

Do you have any prior experience with Requiem? If so, please detail when and what characters you previously played:
bout two years of play time, a handful of characters

Briefly summarize your prior role-playing experience : treading the careful balance between gaming and rp, more often handicapping myself now compared to when I first started

Why do you wish to play on Requiem, and what do you expect from the shard? It's a lot of fun and theres lots of character builds to try out, storylines to participate in that you couldn't necessarily do as other characters

What will your character’s name be? : Frayjave Lorson

Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and
notable features :
about 28 years old. fairly average in the looks department, darker than average skin, makes weird faces some times and has a habit of sticking out his tongue while he does most activities. A head of thin light brown hair that he tries to keep short. 5 ft 11 or so, lean build, athletic. Small brown eyes and a constantly furrowed brow.

Briefly state your character’s intentions for entering the First Province :

Frayjave is attempting to enter the First Province at the direction of a dream he had. In the dream he was able to find a quiet place, away from the judgemental, prying eyes of the law to follow his intuitions. He believes he knows a way to combat the evils of the world. He is most likely insane, and he considers this with great detail each day, yet he is compelled to follow through with his plan.

Briefly provide the pertinent details of your character’s history :

Didn't know any of his real family. He was raised as an errand boy in a small fishing village near Greatport. People say he looks different, and someone once told him he almost looked as if he was from Prodai. When he was 12 his handlers sold him off to a passing traveler. The man saw something in Frayjave, and took him in as an apprentice. The work was simple, put a dagger in a man when he wasn't looking, receive food and the safety of a group. For some time their small band traveled about, heading west and then returning eventually back to the east. He learned of the world through his travels and through stories told by his fellow mercenaries or from tales told in taverns.

Life was good to him, the band of killers were a kind lot as far as murderers-for-hire go. They educated each other in whatever they could, feeling that knowledge should be shared within their small group so as to strengthen the whole. Frayjave took to reading and writing with ease, he had always had a keen interest in it. He was often sent running with papers in hand as a small boy, carrying notes from the docks to fisher's wives, or other such letters. It had been difficult and slow learning, but the time was always ample. Life moved slowly for him, whether in the fishing village or out on the road, he rarely found himself in a hurry. Frayjave was a calm boy, never one to be reprimanded for acting up. He watched quietly as others were beaten senseless, wondering why they couldn't simply listen to what they were told.

As the boy grew to a man he grew bored with his job. He had saved up enough to survive on his own, and so he parted ways from what had become his family. They were fine to see him go, as they considered him a bit of a nutter anyways. Frayjave had collected strange books over the years, things that the others knew were not right to have. Some of the band had considered killing him on more than one occasion, just to be able to sleep better at night without him around. Frayjave slept very little. He spent his nights away from the group doing things in the dark. On one or two occasions he had been found dismembering a body, and had offered no real explanation as to what he was doing.

Briefly write an in-character response to the following scenario:

“By decree of the Venerated Church, the First Province is considered to be a mortal health hazard, and as such, is
quarantined under Article Eighteen of the Republic Treatise of Health Act of 1320. Citizens who do not possess a
Quarantine Visa issued by one of the recognized Factions of the Republic are considered to be non-essential to the
reclamation of the First Province. Under Article Eighteen, non-essentials seeking entry into an official
quarantine zone must petition for entry into a said zone, and state just cause for the issuing of a visa by the
perimeter authority. State your business and make it good, citizen, or get lost; we’ve enough bodies in there to
keep us busy for months.”

"I've been sent on an errand, but I can't seem to find the letter I was to deliver."

Frayjave makes a show of patting down his pockets, checks inside his belt pouch, looks up his sleeves, and then acts as if he finally remembers where he had placed it. He removes a boot, pulls a thin roll from inside, and offers it over for inspection. At the same time he passes along a leather bag of silver delicately, so the clinking is not noticed by the others nearby.

"I believe everything is in order here?"
