>>>Do you have any prior experience with Requiem? If so, please detail when (and what characters, if desired) you previously played:

No.

>>>Briefly summarise your prior role-playing experience in a sentence or two:

I played for 5 or so years back in 2002 in Sanctuary, Darklands and others mostly role playing 'nature' 'good alignment' type characters such as farmers, fishermans, animal tamers, scouts, druids. I might be rusty RP wise.

>>>Why do you wish to play on Requiem, and what do you expect from the shard?

The great RP experiences made me love UO and RP to the point of helping out a group of friends and create our own Shard back then, of which the last version was very similar in many ways to this apocalyptic theme.
I expect a great thrilling RP scenario, lots of custom mechanics, abilities and items and adult responsible behaviour. I'm looking forward for the PD system in place, which allows for 'death' to be taken very seriously, therefore with huge potential for great RP experiences. I'm keen on exploring the 'engineer' and 'firearms' class type character as a way to do something different from what I've role played before.

>>>What will your character’s name be?:

Hildwulf Grant

>>>Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:

The character is a light colored skin 28 year old male, dark brown hair cut above the shoulders, tall about 5'9'' (1.8M) and weighting 165 pounds (75Kg) and somewhat fit. His facial expression, blue eyes towered by big black eyebrows, offers a harmless and seemingly intellectual person at first. He then naturally tends to reveal is curious nature as he may most of the times be looking at an interesting gadget or about repairing a tool or talking/dreaming of his engineering projects. He has a small dark mark below his left eye. At present, he is in bad condition after travelling to Tor.

>>>Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

He is interested in the stuff of things, their mechanics, the forces and reactions that play in man created tools, gadgets, tinkers, and specially the new technological advancements in firearms. His engineering capabilities, young but promising, make him dream of being a Master Engineer working to rebuild the Republic to the glory of once.

>>>Briefly provide a pertinent detail or notable quality of your character’s history (this does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret):

Shortly after his studies in tinkering and masonry, Grant had taken the risky but rewarding opportunity, as a second helper to a medium class official at the Church research council, to volunteer out into the field. He would spend a
great number of years researching and cataloguing the devastating catastrophe the Torment had caused to the Republic's territory, and specialised in valuating the structure damage and repair possibilities to the once magnificent cities of the Enlightenment. He had also proven very useful at maintaining the firearms in good condition, as his hobby since childhood had been to dismantle a blander buss and re assembling it back, with great patience, as his grandfather had thought.

>>>Briefly write an in-character response to the following scenario:

The voyage to Tor, back from the borders to the West Lands, had not been well managed by Grant who spent all his money and used all of his supplies early on. Halfway the hazardous track he had no longer access to safe water and bread which made him start to starve out of fear for the contagious deadly disease.

A few good heart travellers would share safe food of their own backpack, which allowed him to stay alive till the end of the journey. He arrived at the checkpoint badly shaped, visibly skinny and weak, but still carrying his book, somewhat intact, drawings with calculations of the Torment's damage output, and repair needs by category, and descriptions of what the horror had caused to the cities of once great Decarus empire.

Realising how one would be allowed to enter into the quarantined First Province, through bribery, deceit or reason, he believed with the latter he had a won case. His experience in the field, the tactical intel in his travel book would surely mean valuable pieces to Torment's puzzle maybe revealing insight on its effects or reveal weaknesses and root causes.

*Grant slides out a rolled document from his sash, bearing inside the seal of The Church, slightly damaged, and signed by the second official in charge of the West Lands outskirts. Traces of water damage are visible*

*Walks to the quee of strangers, thinking somehow he has a fairer chance, whispers to himself a prayer to the Great Decarus, and waits his turn to claim his cause*
