Caroline Alcott

Do you have any prior experience with Requiem? If so, please detail when (and what characters, if desired) you previously played: Rosalind Hawthorne was a secret mage who murdered people for fun, Leandra Wolfe was a kind of street rat for hire

Briefly summarize your prior role-playing experience in a sentence or two:
Why do you wish to play on Requiem, and what do you expect from the shard?
I've played here before and it's a cool place to be.

What will your character’s name be?:
Caroline Alcott

Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features: Caroline is a woman in her early thirties with long, dark brown hair that is nearly black. Her eyes are a bright shade of green and she has a youthful face. Her expression is typically pleasant and a grin can almost always been seen spread across her lips. She is of average height and weight, a fairly attractive woman, despite her humble background.

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:
Caroline is a seeker of the unknown and is convinced that there is something to be gained in the First Province. She is a treasure hunter and thrill seeker at heart, and the First Province, while dangerous, is looked at by her as the ultimate prize to be had. Caroline had no reason to turn away from it either, seeing as she left home long ago and the companions she traveled with most recently are thought to be dead.

Briefly provide a pertinent detail or notable quality of your character’s history (this does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret): Caroline was the oldest daughter to John Alcott, a prominent farmer who provided food to many wayward travelers and locals. Life was simple on the farm, but it quickly became apparent to Caroline that this wasn't the life for her. She wanted--no, deserved more. So when she was old enough to leave home, she set out to make her mark on the world.

Despite having come from humble means, Caroline managed to hold her own fairly well in the world. She joined a group of travelers and quickly made friends. However, one night tragedy struck the band of adventurers and fire struck their camp, ravaging any belongings they might have had. As if that wasn't enough, the commotion had caught the attention of raiders. Most were killed. Others were scattered to the wind. Caroline managed to escape, but was forced to leave everything she had known for the past few years behind.

The next decision she made was an easy one. The next place she was going to go was the First Province. Sure, it would be a struggle, but life anywhere was a struggle. Besides, if she were lucky, she would find some riches to make her life a little easier along the way.

Briefly write an in-character response to the following scenario:
Caroline looked to the line of people before the officiant, all waiting their turns to try and gain entry to the First Province for some reason or another. She was next in line, so she had to be prepared. Caroline took a moment to adjust her shirt, making sure that it would give just the right amount of skin that the man would surely appreciate. After all, she liked having a plan B, just in case things didn't exact work out.

She stepped up to the officiant and offered him a winning grin, handing her passport out to him. "Think you'll find everything's in order there, sir." Caroline watched as the man took her passport and began looking it over. She'd paid a pretty penny to get the best forgery available, but it would be well worth it if she could get her hands on something valuable here. As for why she was there, well..."I'm here to do volunteer work with the church. I heard they could use the help." A simple reason, but one that was sure to go over well. After all, the Church wouldn't turn away free help when things were so dire. Either way, Caroline waited patiently for the man's approval before she could pass.

The officiant wiped his fingers on his pants as he had seemingly just finished a snack, quickly snatching the papers and looking them over.
"Volunteer for the church, eh? Can use all the help they can get keeping this province together."
The Officiant stifled a burp before he handed the papers back to the woman and waved her through.
"All seems in order, Eight guide you."
