Do you have any prior experience with Requiem? If so, please detail when (and what characters, if desired) you previously played:
Widows Port (briefly) and Act 5

Briefly summarize your prior role-playing experience in a sentence or two:
I've sunk a lot of hours into Requiem, and years of D&D tabletop roleplay.

Why do you wish to play on Requiem, and what do you expect from the shard?
I expect the same quality of design, compelling mechanics, and storytelling agency as prior acts.

What will your character’s name be?:
Basti Serajhad

Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight, and any notable features:

A tall woman, surrounded with the lingering scent of pipe tobacco. Her dark skin and athletic build hide her age in spite of the streaks of grey in her hair and weathered expression.

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

Basti is a civilian. Torment wiped out her traveling family and stranded her in the Eastern Baronies with no real prospects. The First Province will allow her to carve out a spot for herself on her own terms alongside a band of fellow merchants.

Briefly provide a pertinent detail or notable quality of your character’s history (this does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret):

As a caravanner, Basti has been traversing Vitaveous as a trader for decades. She’s made a living by providing her services as a general repairwoman and trader of provisions. About a year ago Basti’s immediate family was lost to the Torment, which left her directionless and lacking purpose for a time. Nothing left to lose, she found herself in Kedian where she has signed on to a mercantile expedition into the First Province offering visas purchased from the Foundry.

Briefly write an in-character response to the following scenario:

“State your business and make it quick, citizen; we’ve enough bodies in there to keep us busy for years without adding yours to the pile, and those VIC are stirring up problems something fierce as of late.”

Basti has been waiting in line for quite a long time now, keeping her pipe lit to avoid small talk while quietly observing the goings-on in the camp. When it’s finally her turn to approach the officiant, she hesitates for a moment at being acknowledged as a “citizen” but quickly recovers, reaching for her glasses as she looks over her visa before presenting it to the man, “Which bodies, sir? From those eating from your garbage, sticking their heads in your fires, or just general negligence of the trails? Perhaps it is all three. You must be so tired.” And hands it to him.

Congratulations, adventurer! Your application is...

Approved!

Please ensure that your character name is spelled correctly upon exiting the Songmaker's chambers. A GM will approve your character at their earliest convenience.

Welcome to Requiem!

She hadn't the slightest clue. With ghostly visages, they came in such number, such disgusting mass that it had begun to feel like a dream. The same words spoken time and time again but in different voices through different lips. They mingled and melded together in his mind forming one chaotic chatter that threatened to overwhelm him if he allowed it. He often went and stared at bodies heaped upon the pile. Their dead faces holding a horrible peace that both scared and welcomed the officiant. Tired, yes. Oh so tired. He hands you your stamped visa.
