Ultima Online does not really allow for "tanking" as we understand it in the modern sense, and because of this, party dynamics can be a bit chaotic. I think that this could easily be solved by providing players with a perk that would force AI to focus on the character using this ability. This would allow for group hunts that's less about running erratically around the battlefield in an attempt to lose agro when a properly skilled and equipped "tank" is present. Furthermore, this would allow for more suitable uses of other tactics that typically get left behind in the fury of running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

Sounds like a good idea. Provoked enemy focuses on the character using the ability for 10 seconds. After the 10 seconds the monster is immune to provocation for 30-60 seconds to prevent abuse/cheese.

[Provocation has a 10 second cooldown, high-end monsters may resist or even be immune.

Don't like this idea. Some mobs are meant to attack the closest lowest hp person, some are meant to attack other members of your group. This function would make PVE far too easy and essentially cause it to have no risk by always having the monster focused on the tank. This isn't WoW let us not make it into WoW
