PLAYER QUESTIONS:

Do you have any prior experience with Requiem? If so, please detail when (and what characters, if desired) you previously played?

No

How did you hear about Requiem?

I was just searching for Ultima RP servers as I RP on other games.

CHARACTER QUESTIONS:

What will your character’s name be?

Antonius Gramesci

Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:

He is 26 years old and of average height and build. His hair is a light blonde, and his eyes a dark brown. His hands are frail and a vague anxiety lingers over his body, causing a slight shake throughout him as well as a perpetual darting of the eyes. His face is long and almost droopy, a wrestling between exhaustion and anxiety.

Please provide a few short paragraphs with pertinent details or notable qualities of your character’s history. This does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret:

Hailing from the Eastern Baronies First Coast city of Kedian, Antonius grew up with a rebellious nature. Often electing to disregard the social norms around him, making his childhood years difficult and filled with condemnation from a variety of sources. This has led him to take on a more reserved and quiet nature, electing for an erratic withdrawal than conformity. In and out of jobs in factories and workshops, he found life boring and yearned for a ‘freer’ existence, particularly one that did not rely on the toll the body takes operating steam machinery. A petty thief by nature, he elected instead to spend much of his free time either idle or bouncing between shops to sustain himself with food and necessities. Antonius became a regular nuisance to the local shopkeepers and visitors. This would prove to be a precarious but realistic existence for Antonius until the Torment began. As those around him began to see less supplies, his ability to steal was also impeded. People were more cautious, and watched their things more closely. He no longer could profit off the abundance and comfort of those around him. Tired of watchful eyes, he picked up on rumors about Tor making claims of wealth leftover and little in the way of ‘rulers.’ Naive and yearning for a vague independence he decided to set out and see what freedom he could find in the ruins.

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

Antonius seeks a life undeterred by authority. In the ruins of Tor, he thinks, perhaps naively, that he can meek out a freer existence. Free to him means abandoning rules and fending for himself, whether through thievery, deceit, or self-reliance. He may find himself surviving off a meager subsistence based around plundered artifacts sold through tenuous relationships. Or, he could be found squatting in derelict ruins, avoiding prying eyes and relying on stolen and ‘harvested’ goods.

Scenario Response:

Antonius, upon seeing the mechanisms of entry at the border, steps out of the line. He pretends to rummage around his bags for something misplaced. As he waits, he scans the lines in search of someone who may have an officiated paper he can get his hands on. In order to lessen suspicion, he quickly rejoins the line as he spots his potential target. Inching closer to them, he attempts to feign a trip and bumps into them, pushing his body into theirs as he drives his hand into their bag and grabs the partially revealed paper. With an apology, he reenters the line, slipping the paper into his pocket. Slowly he drifts backwards, allowing a few members of the line to overtake him as he produces the paper once again to scan its contents. He memorizes the bits and pieces that seem important including name and purpose for entry. Ahead of him the person he stole from is reaching the officiant. The man stands confused, hurriedly rummaging through his bags. “I… I… I just had it, right here!” His face morphs through a rush of emotions as he stammers for the officiant to believe him. “I’ve heard it all before.” The Officiant replies, quietly shoving him to the side and proclaiming for the next person to come up. Antonius approaches the officiant and tries to remain calm and reserved, opting for a silent confidence. The officiant stares down at him, a nudge of his hand indicating its time to show his papers. He produces the papers with ease and a natural gaiety that appears nonchalant. His eyes quickly dart around, checking the officiants demeanor as well as the status of the person whose papers he was now in possession of. As he goes to state his name, he lowers his voice and repeats the words on the paper as if he is proclaiming them as his own. The officiant glances down once again at him and waves for him to pass through. Antonius’s body relaxes as he presses forward, quickly trying to escape the pressing gaze of the officials.
