Application for Razvan Dalca

Post by Razvan » July 21st, 2023, 4:59 pm

Do you have any prior experience with Requiem? If so, please detail when (and what characters, if desired) you previously played:

Yes

What will your character’s name be?

Razvan Dalca

Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:

In his late twenties, a bit shorter than average, thin but strong. He has a distinct mohawk and beard that contrast with his lightly tanned complexion. The left side of his face has a scar that looks like black veins spreading from above his ear then out toward his nose.

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

Razvan has been sent here by his clergy. He believes he has been tasked to help reclaim the First Province and purge it of the corruption of magic. In truth, his clergy wanted him to leave because he kept causing problems with others.

He arrives with the intention of going to war against the dead, improving his combat skills, and dealing with any sources of magical corruption he can find - by ending it. He is not blindly stupid, however, and knows he will need allies and a place where he can sleep safe from danger.

Please provide a few short paragraphs with pertinent details or notable qualities of your character’s history. This does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret:

He comes from the far west, from the city of Antongrad. His parents were merchants, and as a child he traveled with them often through Kaduraas. When he was a teenager, his caravan was attacked by a mage using diabolic magic. The dark magic scarred his face, and killed his parents. He would have died as well, but he fell unconcious and was believed dead. Antongrad was the closest city, and he stumbled there looking for help.

He was taken in by a group of religious Descusian fanatics. He was given shelter and food in excange for service. Through the years there he became devout, in paticular he hated mages and easily adapted to the fanatical mindset that magic is blasphemous.

His hatred of magic outgrew his zeal for Decus, however, and even the clergy that took him in began to grow uncomfortable with his obsession.

He began to start conflicts and cause problems for his clergy. To solve this, they revealed to Razvan that they had received a divine mandate: The First Province must be reclaimed from the corrupting influence of magic and the walking dead.

They asked him to go and provided him a visa and supplies for the journey. Razvan accepted the task with fevor. He was eager to leave the clergy's rules behind and build his own following in the First Province. One that would focus on battling the thing he hated most, and the true threat to the world, magic.

The train station:

Razvan walked toward the train at a rapid pace. The journey had been long, but he was almost at his destination. He shoved past a few people who were milling about, not even paying attenion to them. His intense gaze was focused on his objective - the Train.

He wore old leathers that stank from weeks of travel, and carried a torn pack slung over one shoulder. Everything about him was dirty and sweaty, except the giant sword slung over his other shoulder. The sword was clearly well cared for, clean and kept in perfect condition.

He begrudgingly paused to stand in line when he got close, waiting his turn impatiently and shifting his weight from one foot to the other.

When it was his turn, the officiant eyed him suspiciously.

"State your business and make it quick, citizen; we’ve enough bodies in there to keep us busy for years without adding yours to the pile, and those VIC are stirring up problems something fierce as of late."

Razvan looked into the officiant's eyes, and smiled a predatory white-toothed smile.

"I'm here to serve the will of Decus." His voice seemed to creak out as if he had not spoken to anyone in quite some time.

"I doubt that." Said the officiant without thinking.

With a blur of motion, Razvan's hand stopped an inch from the officiant's face. In his closed fingers was an envelope.

"It's all in there", he rasped.

After reluctantly taking the envelope, the officiant spent some time reviewing it.

Reluctantly, after taking one last look at Razvan, he seemed to give in and waved the man onto the train.

"Bless you, then sir. When you arrive, I recommend you visit the bath houses." he said dismissively.

Razvan considered that, and smiled. That sounded like the perfect place to start.
