Do you have any prior experience with Requiem? If so, please detail when (and what characters, if desired) you previously played?

I have played Requiem a few times over the years. I could not honestly tell you my characters or the acts though.


How did you hear about Requiem?

I have been in and out of the RP community for decades and Requiem has always been a staple.

What will your character’s name be?

Otis R Mercer


Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:

Otis Rurik Mercer is 35 years old with a tall broad figure standing around 6'9"and weighing 350lbs. Looking him over he would appear unkept with long hair and an overgrown beard. Otis' dark hair flows down his head with his hazel eyes setting his gaze upon the tormented world. His body and appearance is battle worn and tattered from the years of living in these times.


Please provide a few short paragraphs with pertinent details or notable qualities of your character’s history. This does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret:

Having been born in the country side surrounding The First Province Otis always lived with reverence and hope in The Church. Even as the Torment ran rampant from his younger years of life. He was raised to be faithful and he set his eyes upon the Legion to restore and cleanse the lands. For almost all his life he has seen the death and madness devour the lands. From his earliest memories death takes it's toll and slowly chips away at him.

Starting from his childhood years his family and loved ones were consumed by the torment. Leaving him an orphan and a ward of The Church at the age of 8. He moved with the survivors and faithful as society crumbled and kept driving those closest to him mad. From childhood friends to the clergy that aided his walk with faith. Otis only found his peace perhaps even falsely among the Legion as they fell mad too.

Growing into his later years around 17 he was set out as a ward. Though he did not turn from his faith trailing the company he grew up with and learning what he could to refine his ability to fight and defend. He was no longer receiving what little care he had. Now fending from himself he fell prey to those lost. Not known for sure if he was poisoned or purely a trial of Decus. Otis was stricken by an illness that was almost crippling. Praise Decus as the company he trailed intervened. Showing love and grace sent him ahead for medical care. He was now quarantined in the First Providence with hope he sets out a new.




Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

After Otis regains his strength and wits he looks to the Church for hope and guidance. To bring about order in chaos and to praise Decus for his sacrifice wasn't for nothing. Only time will tell the tolls paid of these times and their impact on Otis.


Scenario Response:

Having arrived by medical escort Otis looks around him to see fragments of hope and order. Though quarantine is maddening by itself. The stillness breeds restlessness and fear for loved ones lost in travel. He sets his hope for the First Providence in The Church and Legion. As he regains his strength and grows stronger by the day. He roams seeking his previous company and the will of Decus. A path that can be diluted and heretical in the times of the fallen state. He sees the despair among the once faithful and fights the thoughts and urges of man. He sets himself apart awaiting his approval commonly seen praying and training amongst the hopeful pilgrims.
