What will your character’s name be?

Barnabas Bost


Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:

As tall as Barnabas is, he is nearly as wide. His gut is much larger than his chest, so along with his bald head it gives him a very rotund appearance. Long scars wrap around his body, showing years of hard living and fighting.


Please provide a few short paragraphs with pertinent details or notable qualities of your character’s history. This does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret:

Born the third child of a civilian, Barnabas' existence could not be known. Secreted off by his mother to a distant relative's farm, Barnabas quickly grew in size, and the boy was worked like a mule until he ran away from the only home he ever knew. He was taken in by the Delucian Church, but that too did not last, as his large size attracted the wrong sort of attention.
For years, conflict sought him out. Stealing and mugging for food in Redholme saw him to his adult years, and the thieving advanced to criminal activities more suited for a man of his size. Consorting with this sort of people would never last long, as rivalries and disputes would always boil over in some way. Even a stint in Republic service would fall apart, as he just did not have the right temperament for service to authority.

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

Through it all, Barnabas wondered if it was truly conflict that sought him out, or if it was he that sought conflict. He had always felt it necessary to use his large size to defend himself or to survive, but, he thought, it could be possible for him to use his natural born abilities to help others in conflict.
There was no place for him in Redholme anymore, he had made too many enemies. One way or another, he would find his destiny in the First Province.


Scenario Response:

Grimacing at the officiant's decree, Barnabas realized he had not enough coin for a bribe, and with such a large crowd, attempts at intimidation would go astray. He turned around and purposefully made his way through the crowd, inevitably jostling and bumping those in his way. After two dozen or so had been thus accosted, he saw his prize. The coin purse was dangling a bit too loosely from one citizen's belt, and a solid bump was all it took to distract it's owner long enough to separate the two without notice. Returning later, Barnabas hoped to himself that this would be the last time he would have to steal. He also remarked that there was more than enough inside for the bribe, and decided to keep a few coins for himself.
