I have never played Requiem before. I have only heard about it from other roleplayers that I have played with on the UO Outlands shard. We had a podcast (pwncast) a few weeks ago with Pwnstarr Gaming - and some of my fellow attenders there mentioned Requiem as well. I thought I'd give it a go to check it out. From what I heard and now read on the website, the shard looks very promising.

What will your character’s name be?
Valen Harper.
Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:
Valen Harper stands about 6'2 in height - and he has an athletic build, that shows signs that he has done some manual labor or other forms of physical exercise in his life. His short brown hair and vandyke always seems to be well kept and trimmed. His face is somewhat rugged, and over his left eye is a visible scar. His body carries a few scars as well, if he is ever caught without clothing or clad in armor.
He is often seen with a warm smile or broad grin across his face, although hidden underneath this welcoming exterior lies a cold, ruthless and opportunistic narcissist. Valen is in his early 20's but his looks may be percepted as several years older.
Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:
Provincial Treasure Hunter & Occulist inspired. Valen seeks the First Province for its undiscovered treasures - inform of solid coins, magical trinkets, relics and hidden knowledge about magics. Valen has no ability to cast nor control magic upon creation, and if he ever will be will be decided through the coarse of gameplay.
Please provide a few short paragraphs with pertinent details or notable qualities of your character’s history. This does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret:
A troublesome background has shaped this young man - into the wicked interior that lies within. Mayhaps Valen will be successful in finding what he seeks in the First Province, becoming a filthy rich man, or a powerful master of Diabolism? Or will the experience and encounters within lead him unto a path of redemption? Turning away from his greedy ways - and begin to act in favor of the Virtues - instead of Anti Virtues?

Skilled swordsman, master archer and an expert at finding hidden dangers *Mm great treasures Valen thinks to himself* to the good men and women of the Realm! You, my friend - will one day be well known for being the man with the keen eye that let Valen Harper into the First Province! I can already hear the Bards tell tales about your ability to discern a grand contributer like myself from the rest of the pack that bothers you daily! What say you, good sire?!
*Incase Valen's speech would not be enough to persuade the guardsmen - he stands ready to pull up a vouching letter from a known major Faction - the letter is to the best of his abilities, made using a forgery kit...*
