Application for Luis Behnam

Post by Mappo » March 18th, 2021, 10:14 am

Do you have any prior experience with Requiem? If so, please detail when (and what characters, if desired) you previously played: I've played most previous acts at least briefly.

Briefly summarize your prior role-playing experience in a sentence or two:
Why do you wish to play on Requiem, and what do you expect from the shard? I wish for a hardcore RP experience.

What will your character’s name be?: Luis Behnam

Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:

Luis stands before you at roughly 6 feet tall, hardened facial features his skin dark and slightly cracked from all the time spent in the sun. He has long shaggy black hair, accompanied by a mangy beard. When you look at Luis you notice one distinct scar across his left cheek about 4 inches long that looks to be done by a blade of some sort. Once you see the scar your eyes then move to his eyes, dead.. almost as if they have no life whatsoever, although they look dead they do carry some hint of life which is the hazel color of his eyes. He looks to weigh about 190 pounds and looks to be 25 - 30 years old.

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

Luis does not have many intentions besides fleeing the western territories and this is just another stop along the way. He is skilled with the sabre, and will do whatever it takes to make a few coins to survive. If that is a sword for hire, or to go fetch things he is your man.

Briefly provide a pertinent detail or notable quality of your character’s history (this does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret):

Luis was an orphan born in the city of Kobo which resides in Prodai, his parents killed off early in his life due to their belief's in the "God-Kings". Luis as a lone boy had to fend for himself, he stole, he got beaten, and he ran for his dear life nearly daily. As Luis grew up he met a man by the name of Jallal Ahmadi who owned a small home where he taught people fencing as a means of self defense. Jallal took pity on Luis and took him in as one of his own, taught him all he knew of fencing and the world which wasn't a whole lot in reality. Luis trained all his life with Jallal until he passed of old age. After Jallal had passed Luis mourned for many weeks barely moving he was in agony, he had never felt such a connection with another human being. He can handle the whip, starvation, but the pain in his heart was deep. He needed to leave Prodai and set out to see the world.. All the stories Jallal had told him, he wished to see with his own eyes. He wished to push his fencing to the utmost extreme to make Jallal proud. He gathered all his life belongings that he needed and set off on a journey... to the first province.

Briefly write an in-character response to the following scenario:

“State your business and make it quick, citizen; we’ve enough bodies in there to keep us busy for years without adding yours to the pile, and those VIC are stirring up problems something fierce as of late.”
Gathering your wits, you step forward towards the officiant, and make your decision as to how to gain access to the First Province.

Luis steps forward holding what seems to be a sealed visa, his hand giving off a slight tremble. It was his first big trip alone ever since Jallal had passed a few years ago.

"I've come from the far lands of Prodai to do any job required that pays coin, I am well trained in the ways of the sabre and skinning knife. I do believe I will be of great assistance to these lands and it's people."

Luis stood there looking at the officiant his eyes dead pan. His thought's began to race as the officiant sat there holding the visa, was he going to be turned away? He had no where to go.. He had come so far if he got turned away.. No, he stopped those thoughts and stood firm. He believed in his heart that the officiant would let him pass.

Congratulations, adventurer! Your application is...

Approved!

Please ensure that your character name is spelled correctly upon exiting the Songmaker's chambers. A GM will approve your character at their earliest convenience.

Welcome to Requiem!

The officiant eyes you a long moment, seeming to take in your sum. Prodain. How far one such as this man must have traveled to arrive in this line to damnation. And for what? The officiant wonders as he studies you. A few meager coins tossed at you with feigned gratitude? Were things so bad out west that such a reward was worth the trouble? Worth your life? Though, honesty was rare, he supposed, mayhaps they sought more than they were willing to say. It did not matter to him in the end. Aspirations crumbled quickly when faced with the hard truths of reality. Truths this man would find aplenty where he was headed. The officiant stamps your visa and gestures you to continue.
