Parrying without a shield

Post by Hagbard » April 8th, 2021, 5:27 am

Greetings!

Evasion
So with the recent changes to Evasion, using it without a shield is pretty much pointless.
I tried it out today using a two-handed sword, and it lasts long enough to "maybe" block one hit from an enemy.
I honestly can't see the use of this ability at all currently, I think a better adjustment might be to lower the bonus to parrychance that it applies, and make it last the original 8 seconds. Hell, if you half the bonus to parrychance, for a maximum of 25% and make it last 8 seconds with the 20 seconds cooldown, I'd consider it to be in a good spot.

Parry Chance
Previously you'd have a 25% parrychance using a two-handed sword, and now you'd have 16%. (Assuming a skill of 100).
With a one-handed sword, even less.
My feelings after trying it out a bit, is that it's a bit too severe of a nerf. I'd suggest going halfway and reducing the parrychance to 20% maybe?

I'd like to get others feedback on their experience as well

On a final note
Nothing has changed for me personally in what I can and can't kill now as compared to before, so don't think this is a desperate plea, but I've currently invested 100 skillpoints and 153 animus in a skill that is 6% more likely to block an attack than the cheapest set of medium armor is.
I might as well use a Radiant Scimitar and shield, and do nearly the same damage but with the full parry benefits.

I used a stopwatch to time it, and Evasion with a twohanded weapon at 100 skill lasts for 3 seconds.
