Specifically, the pixies summoned by Summon Fey. They do admirable damage with spells, but their melee capabilities and durability is flat out sad (as expected). The problem is that they have default UO AI which is to run at things and melee them despite being a mage.
Might be a tricksy request considering some AI related troubles, but if I don't get some sort of front-line summon that isn't tethered to 3 tiles range of my character soon, these little fellahs are going to cause me all sorts of heart ache!

If that is the case, may also want to check the Summon Fiend AI (imp).
They do not do respectable damage with magic, but are indeed really stupid and rush in and get one-punched.
And they're one of those supposedly OP "epic spells" we keep hearing about.
