Application for Weylin Myrick

Post by Myrick » November 16th, 2022, 1:28 pm

PLAYER QUESTIONS:

Do you have any prior experience with Requiem? If so, please detail when (and what characters, if desired) you previously played:

Yes, Act 4 and 5

How did you hear about Requiem?

My brother was playing and recommended the shard.

CHARACTER QUESTIONS:

What will your character’s name be?

Weylin Myrick

Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:

5’11” he looks to be in his early twenties, below average weight. Description: A gangly framed young man walking with an uneven gait, favoring his left leg from an old injury that never healed properly. He’s a long face sports a large but charismatic nose. Hazel eyes in hue peer out over thick, unruly brown hair which curls at the nap of his neck. When idling he is in a constant state of fiddling with whatever is in his hands, but otherwise he is both in mannerisms and cadence, unhurried.

Please provide a few short paragraphs with pertinent details or notable qualities of your character’s history. This does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret:

Weylin was born the of a Prodaen civilian woman and Legionaire stationed in Kobo in the early in the late 1320s. The union brought discrimination from both stationed Decusian Legionnaires as well as Local Luellen sympathizers.

Upon the death of in the Legionnaire in a violent bout of civil unrest, Weylins mother would use his late fathers Legion connections to flee to Redholme and start a new life. Things however, did not improve once the family made it to Redholme, where they’d face discrimination for their Prodaen heritage.

His mother would make a living providing herbal remedies and other alchemical tonics amongst the locals of their shantytown, where she could communicate using her native tongue. Since Weylin was physically able to lift a pickaxe, he went to work for a privately Parish-owned mining operation in the northern mountains of the Province to help support his family. In his late adolescence he fell victim of a mining accident that mangled his left leg.

His mother, a skilled healer in her own right, chose to treat the injury herself rather than submit her son to the more ‘civilized’ treatments the Apothecary Corp offered to the other victims of the accident; in the end, many were left amputees, and Weylin kept his leg, but it never set right.

Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

Weylin is escaping the debt incurred by his existence as being born a civilian and inheriting the debts of his civilian mother upon her death. Additionally, he is looking to strike out on his own; Redholme industry often offering him less wages or opportunities due to his Western heritage and physical handicap.

Scenario Response:

Weylin makes no effort to hide the limp in his step as he is called forward. As he pats himself down, he feigns a worried expression before looking up to meet the Officiant’s gaze cracking a smile, “Uh, I may have left my Visa back on the train…” He looks over his shoulder back towards the station and murmurs audibly so the officiant can overhear, “And not enough for a trip home,” He then turns back to the Officiant, to shifting his full weight a moment into his bad leg invoke a genuine grimace of pain, he’d regret it later, but was hoping it would help play to the man’s sympathy, he looks to the Officiant trying to smile, “But you don’t need a cripple like me stuck on this side of the pass, one less useless mouth to feed here if you let me through, right?”
