Wanted: Armor Lubricant

She squinted under the yellow light flooding the shed, her baggy eyes struggling to keep pace with the wooden wheel spinning before her. Nivellen spent more time in her cramped workspace than home lately, trying to occupy her thoughts with something both mundane and familiar. She'd been edgier than usual and quite remiss about personal care. Had she bathed today yet? Definitely not the day before.
There was no need for another set of armor, hers worked just fine. Nevertheless she kept stitching and locking rivets on the leather pieces that gradually took humanoid shapes. Then she stopped, holding loosely the unfinished gauntlet piece. Spent and mostly unkempt, Nivellen dropped the prototype on the hard floor and left, draping a shawl around her shoulders. If she was making some new armor for herself, at least that one would be drowned in lubricant to the last seam; the world encroached on her liberties long enough, she would at least try to make the heavy protection gear more accommodating and flexible.
Nivellen soon reached Market Lane, letting her wishes known in stands with odd contraptions and gadgets she didn't really understand.
