What will your character’s name be?

Sable.


Please briefly describe the physical attributes of your character, including age, looks, height, weight and any notable features:

Young at 19, on the shorter side at 5'0. 105 lbs. Sable is obnoxiously, unfairly attractive. Youth and and active life have kept her lithe and well muscled. Large, intense dark eyes contrast with pale skin, the contrast further enhanced by her braided black hair and dark heavy eye makeup, including thick eyeliner and smoky eyeshadow. She often wears black or dark-colored lipstick. She sports three tattoos, simple black rings that encircle her left wrist and forearm. Her look reflects her playful and edgy personality.


Please provide a few short paragraphs with pertinent details or notable qualities of your character’s history. This does not have to be exhaustive nor revealing of any information you wish to keep secret:

Sable has, until recently, lived an easy and privileged life. Named Ophelia Carina Livia Valentinus IV at birth, after her matrilineal line, she had a comfortable childhood, good education and a steady, solid, exceptionally boring time in general.

In her late teen years, she began to rebel. Leaving her gated prelacy community behind under the guise of attending the Redholme University for Medicine and Disease, which she is technically enrolled in but has attended few classes. Sable delved into the darker underbelly of Redholme and began to go by the Moniker "Sable", leaving what she considered to be her pretentious, kidnapping-ransom bait of a name behind.

Falling in with rowdy and frankly, criminal crowd, Sable began to actually enjoy life.
Illegal fighting rings became her passion. Being chronically underestimated, she loved the thrill of taking down a man twice her size simply because he did not think it possible. However, the bruises, cuts and damage from the ring wouldn't go unnoticed for long.

Seeing the damage Sable would come home from University with, her parents became suspicious and hired investigators to look into the matter, fearing their precious daughter was being abused by some sinister instructor or group of classmates. When it was discovered that she had scarcely attended class at all, and that she had instead been spending her time with the degenerate detritus of the city, her parents alerted the authorities to the illegal underground games and scattered its participants to prison, or the shadows.

After this, her parents lost all trust in her, and kept her under lock and key. Bringing her private tutors to continue her studies, she was forbidden from leaving the grounds unless accompanied by a bodyguard to keep an eye on her.

This persisted for many months, until Sable came up with a plan to escape, and go where no one would find her.
While out in town with her bodyguard one day, she surprised the man by throwing ground glass she had been saving into his eyes and kicking him in the groin before making her escape, taking only the clothing on her back and enough money to bribe her way into the first province.


Briefly state your character’s intentions or motivations for entering the First Province:

Sable is here for the thrill. The lawless nature of the first province appeals to her, and not having ever actually been in any real life threatening danger her entire sheltered life, she finds the idea of going toe to toe with monsters and nightmarish horrors exciting. She intends to fight her way through the first province, earning glory and gold as she goes.


Scenario Response:

Sable relishes in the flow of bodies surrounding her in the trainyard. No one is polite. No one is trying to keep her neat and clean and tucked away. No one cares at all, and she loves it.

Standing in line for entry has her feeling antsy. Not because the purse full of coin won't do the job of buying her way in, but because the line is moving so atrociously slow. People are staring at her, but she's used to that. She alternates between sweetly smiling while making fleeting eye contact, and glowering, staring down her onlookers.

She entertains herself with the reactions of her audience until it's her turn.

"“State your business and make it quick, citizen; we’ve enough bodies in there to keep us busy for years without adding yours to the pile, and those VIC are stirring up problems something fierce as of late.”"

"Hello, officer." she says, as she saunters over to him. "You're the man to see about getting through to the first province, yes?" she continues, smiling sweetly and twirling her braid.

He stammers a few times starting his sentence, this is apparently not the usual conversation he has.

"Ah.. Yes. That's me." He says, standing up straight and smoothing out his uniform.

"Sounds like a very important job." Sable replies, lids low and voice hushed. "Let me make your important job a little easier today, mister." she continues, pulling out the small purse near bursting with coin. "Let me pass through, don't tell anyone I was here, and.. take this as a parting gift." She pushes the purse to him with a wink and a kiss on the cheek.
