A Grimdark Fantasy Roleplaying Experience

Veni, vidi, edi: An Introduction to Cooking

Cooking ability is determined by your Agriculture skill, and allows you to prepare foods that satiate hunger, restore grit, and provide additional temporary stat increases.

Beverages can be prepared via the process of Brewing, which is available to those with 80% Agriculture Skill or higher.

A full overview of the Agriculture skill and its feats can be found in the Skill Compendium located here.

Getting Started

Your primary tool will be your Cooking Pot, which can be made by engineers or purchased from various NPC or player vendors.

The majority of your base materials will be from harvesting fruits and vegetables with your Agriculture skill, meats can be harvested from various animals (and humans) throughout Requiem using Skinning.

Cooking Process

The majority of cooking recipes will require you to prepare in proximity of a heat source.

Cooking: Specialization

For the Alchemist who has invested into World Lore and have purchased at least one rank of the Specialized Crafting perk have the ability to choose agriculture (cooking) as their crafting specialization.

Recipes are still required regardless of being specialized in Agriculture. But by specializing, your cooked recipes will go further:

  • Specialized Crafting I - + 1 Use (Brewing: -2% Fermentation Duration, +1 Use)
  • Specialized Crafting II + 2.5 Minutes (Brewing: -6% Fermentation Duration)
  • Specialized Crafting III + 1 Use and +2.5 Minus (Brewing: -4% Fermentation Duration, +1 Use)

These features compound, so by feat III the crafted food will have +2 Uses and 5 Minutes total (For Brewing -10% Fermentation Duration and +2 uses to beverages)

Tips and Tricks

You can use a butcher knife on a raw bird to get two chicken legs, and some other meats also yield smaller bits when cut in the same fashion.
