A Grimdark Fantasy Roleplaying Experience

Your first few hours in Requiem

Getting started in Requiem can be a daunting task, and the aim of this guide is to ease you into playing here. In the guide, we will try to help you with various questions you have, and try to list some useful advice.

Leaving the Rumbling Pass

After you've gotten your character application approved on the forums found here,https://www.13thrones.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=19, the time has come to leave the comforting cradle of the Rumbling Pass and venture out into the world of Requiem. Once you are approved, you will receive a Quarantine Visa ingame (the time it takes to get this depends on when a staff member is available, feel free to ping and ask in the Discord channel #player_help. With the Quarantine Visa in hand, you should seek out the NPC known as Clarence Peabody.

The Basics of Survival

To at very least survive in the world of Requiem, there are only two things you need. This is, to eat and to drink. Your character has a Hunger and a Thirst stat, which you can view by opening the Codex ingame using the [codex command.

To fill these up, you will need to find food and liquid.

Hunger

Food comes in many varieties, and some will even give bonuses to your status when you eat them. Food drops from monsters, and can also be crafted with the Agriculture skill. In general, food bought from players who have crafted it themselves is generally better, and typically not that expensive. To eat food you simply doubleclick on it.

Thirst

Thirst can be quenched with water, but also various other liquids. Drinking alcohol and such will also satisfy your thirst. Water is plentiful, and easy to find. To gather water, you will need some kind of container to keep it in. Some varieties of these are waterskins, mugs, etc. To gather water, you doubleclick on the container and select the watersource when prompted. The watersource can be a well, a puddle, or nearly any body of water.

Be aware that watersources can be unclean, and will inflict poison on you when you drink from them! To counter this, you can either get a magician to bless your water, if they have the ability, or boil the water yourself using a kettle. Kettles can be purchased from player engineers, and there are usually some for sale.

To boil water using a kettle, you doubleclick the kettle when you are near a firesource, then drag fuel (1 log or 10 Kindling) into the fuel slot, then add up to 4 items containing water into the slots for boilable items. Once done, press the “Apply” button twice, and the water will begin to boil. This will take a few seconds, and when done, you have to move the water sources out from the slots in the kettle, and into your inventory. You can now drink the water by doubleclicking on the water container and targeting yourself.

Logs for boiling water can be gathered by using a hatchet on a tree, and kindling can be gathered by using any bladed item on a tree.
